The publisher has released works by influential authors, both German and international, and is recognized for its intellectual and cultural contributions to literature.

Challenge

^{One Platform for All: Books, Events, Media, and More}

Suhrkamp/Insel Verlag faced the challenge of organizing a vast amount of content, including articles, news, videos, author readings, events, images, and author photos, all while managing complex image rights and an extensive catalog featuring various publishers, series, and editions. The goal was to create a user-friendly platform that would simplify browsing, reading, and purchasing, while ensuring the site was optimized for mobile devices.

Solution

^{Clean Design Meets Powerful Backend for an Engaging Shopping Experience}

PIM.RED was implemented to manage and process the extensive content, allowing for seamless integration and efficient delivery across the platform. A new website with a mobile-optimized shopping cart was developed, featuring a clean, minimalist interface that connects products and content in an intuitive and engaging manner. Technologically, the platform is built on a microservice API architecture based on node.js. Images are directly exported via the Cumulus MDO engine. Orders are processed through web services to Zeitfracht, and various .json and .xml interfaces are connected to inxmail for newsletters and transactional emails.

The use of PIM.RED transformed the presentation of Suhrkamp /Insel Verlag’s extensive content, making it easy for users to browse, read, and purchase from a wide range of products. The mobile-optimized shopping cart and simplified interface invite exploration and interaction with the content. With PIM.RED at the core, the platform benefits from smooth content management, efficient order processing, and effective communication through integrated email services, resulting in a user-friendly and highly functional website.
